Mel Kubik, lead singer for The Shanghai Woolies and member of Quarterflash, is a personally accessible songstress with a musical depth and beauty that is rare. Her versatility as a performer and writer will have you swooping and soaring in unexpected directions. Her fluid piano style is a combination of Liz Story New Age, Dr. John Funky, and Dave Brubeck Cool Jazz. Her warmly expressive vocals veer from deeply delicate and lilting, to pounding strength in a single bound.
