2026 found Michael Jarmer and René Ormae-Jarmer in a triple celebration: 40 years of Here Comes Everybody, 40 years of matrimony, and almost simultaneously, the 20th anniversary of the Submarines album. In a four part celebration, Here Comes Everybody went on the 20/40 “tour.” They played three anniversary shows at Alberta Street Pub here in Portland, Oregon, and are planning a fourth and final anniversary show, an in-store performance at their favorite neighborhood independent record store, Daily Records in the Oak Grove area of Milwaukie, Oregon, Sunday, November 8, 2026. Super fun fact: in all four of these shows, René and Michael have been reunited on stage with the first musicians they would ever perform with. That’s right, going all the way back to 1986 (and earlier), Allen Hunter (on bass) and Greg Kirkelie (guitar) have both come back into the HCE Orbit.
